Bishop Hughes Memorial Catholic Day Care, Nursery and Primary School, Oke-Ijebu Akure Ondo State, was established on 9th September 1985 by His Lordship Most Rev. Dr. F.F. Alonge then Catholic Bishop of Ondo Diocese, in loving memory of late Bishop Thomas Hughes from Holy Mount Country Mayo Ireland who was the first Catholic Bishop of Ondo Diocese. Managed by the SISTERS OF THE IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY MOTHER OF CHRIST
